The General Assembly recognizes that a major component of any continuum for delinquency prevention is a series of immediate interaction programs. It is the belief of the General Assembly that each community or group of communities is best suited to develop and implement immediate intervention programs to identify and redirect delinquent youth. The following programs and procedures for immediate intervention are authorized options for communities, and are not intended to be exclusive or mandated.
