Text
1.The owner of a bovine animal shall be indemnified for the bovine animal as provided
in this section. The department shall certify the claim of the owner for the bovine animal
slaughtered in accordance with this chapter. An infected bovine animal herd may be
completely depopulated and indemnity paid when, in the opinion of the department and
the veterinary service of the United States department of agriculture, the disease cannot be
adequately controlled by routine testing.
2.The owner may be indemnified by the United States department of agriculture.
