Text
As used in this chapter, the term:
(1)"Agency" means a law enforcement agency with the jurisdiction to engage in the detection, investigation, or prosecution of a cold case murder.
(2)"Cold case" means a homicide:
(A)That was committed more than three years prior to the date of an application by a designated person;
(B)That was previously investigated by an agency; and (C) For which all probative leads have been exhausted or no likely perpetrator has been identified.
(3)"Designated person" means an immediate family member or their designated legal representative who shall be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
(4)"Immediate family member" means a parent, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandparent-in-law, sibling, spouse, child, or stepchild of a victim or any person
