Text

(1)An individual who earns self-employment income and who opts into the paid-leave program established pursuant to this subchapter shall remain continuously enrolled in the program until such time as he or she elects to opt out; provided, that an individual who earns self-employment income who has opted into the program may only opt out of the program during an open enrollment period.
(2)If an individual who earns self-employment income has chosen not to opt into the paid-leave program established pursuant to this subchapter , he or she shall only be permitted to enroll, or re-enroll, in the program during an open enrollment period in a manner prescribed by the Mayor and shall make contributions to the District for no less than 3 consecutive years.
