(a)No member of the Connecticut Retirement Security Advisory Board, except the State Comptroller or State Treasurer, or any executive director, assistant executive director or authorized officer appointed by said board or the principal of an entity with a contract with the Comptroller to administer the Connecticut Retirement Security Program, shall make a contribution to, or knowingly solicit contributions from the board on behalf of (1) an exploratory committee or candidate committee established by a candidate for nomination or election to the office of Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, State Comptroller, Secretary of the State or State Treasurer, (2) a political committee authorized to make contributions or expenditures to or for the benefit of such candidates, or (3) a p
