Except pursuant to the provisions of article 5 of this title, no foreign insurance company shall transact any business in this state unless it first files in the office of the commissioner a duly certified copy of its charter, articles of incorporation, or deed of settlement, together with a statement, under oath, of the president and secretary, or other chief officers of such company, showing the condition of affairs of such company on the thirty-first day of December next preceding the date of such oath. The statement shall be in the same form and shall set forth the same particulars as the annual statement required by this title (except article 15) and article 14 of title 24, C.R.S.
