Text

(1)The commissioner may examine and investigate the business affairs and conduct of every person applying for or holding an insurance producer license under this article to determine whether such person has been or is engaged in any violation of the insurance laws or rules of this state or has engaged in unfair or deceptive acts or practices in any state.
(2)On receipt of any information regarding the possible violation of the insurance laws or rules of this or any other state, or the possible use of unfair or deceptive practices by a person applying for or holding an insurance producer license under this article, the commissioner may require such person to appear and show cause why the commissioner should not discontinue, revoke, suspend, or refuse to issue or renew the person
