Text
(1)The
commissioner of insurance is the head of the division of insurance. The
commissioner shall be appointed by, and serve at the pleasure of, the governor,
subject to confirmation of the appointment by the senate pursuant to section 23 of
article IV of the state constitution. The commissioner shall be a person well versed
in insurance, and an elector of the state of Colorado, and shall have no pecuniary
interest in any insurance company or agency directly or indirectly other than as a
policyholder.
(2)The commissioner shall have such employees as may be required for the
transaction of the business of the office of the commissioner. One or more shall be
deputy commissioners of insurance who are authorized in all matters to act as and
