Steven Robertson et al. (the Robertson objectors) and other objectors appeal the district court's settlement approval in this multidistrict litigation (MDL) conducted in the United States District Court.2 The litigation arose out of billing disputes between wireless telephone service providers and their customers. Defendant Nextel Communications, Inc., et al. (Nextel), and named class plaintiffs Joseph A. Blando et al. (the Blando plaintiffs) eventually agreed to a nationwide class settlement and submitted the terms of the settlement to the district court for approval. Several parties to the MDL action filed objections to the nationwide settlement and the settlement procedure. The district court approved the settlement agreement and several objectors appealed.3
