Text
Every county memorial hospital established and maintained as
provided by law is a public county hospital. It may charge
persons able to pay the same a reasonable price for use of the
hospital and its facilities during the time required for proper
treatment, and shall furnish free to residents of the county
having no means to pay for the same all necessary facilities and
maintenance during the time such persons are required to remain
there for proper treatment. As long as a county department of
public assistance and social services functions in the county as
provided by law, the funds in control of the board for
hospitalization purposes shall be deemed "means" for payment of
resident indigent hospitalization.
