Text
(a)If a person ordered to give recognizance complies with
the order he shall be discharged and the recognizance returned
to him.
(b)If a person ordered to give recognizance and surety
refuses or neglects to do so, the judge may order the person to
show cause why he should not be committed to jail. If the judge
finds that the person's default is willful or is due to his
failure to make a good faith effort to obtain the surety
required, the judge may order him committed to jail until the
surety, or a specified part thereof is given, provided that such
commitment shall not exceed six (6) months.
