§ 25-10-115 — Transfer of patients to another hospital; notice
Wyoming·Title 25 Institutions of the State·Ch. 10 HOSPITALIZATION OF MENTALLY ILL PERSONS·Art. 1 GENERAL PROVISIONS
(a)A hospital may transfer a patient hospitalized under
this act to another hospital if the transfer is in the best
interest of the patient. An involuntarily hospitalized patient
who is so transferred retains the status of an involuntarily
hospitalized patient under W.S. 25-10-110.
(b)Not less than five (5) days before a patient is
transferred, the head of the hospital shall give written notice
to the court, the patient, and the person responsible for his
care or custody. The notice shall include:
(i)The grounds for the transfer;
(ii)The patient's right to contest the transfer;
(iii)The patient's right to a hearing before he is
transferred; and
(iv)The patient's right to counsel.
