§ 7-1-104 — Custody of convict charged with offense committed while in state penal institution
If any convict in a state penal institution is charged with any
crime committed while confined therein, the convict shall remain
in the custody of the department of corrections and shall remain
confined in the institution unless otherwise directed by the
director of the department or by order of the court in which the
indictment or information is filed.
