§ 17-6 — Bylaws, rules, and regulations; Trustees

The Trustees may make such bylaws, rules, and regulations for the graduation, instruction, and management of the school, and for the care of the property of the District as they may deem expedient, not inconsistent with the laws of the State; they shall establish a course or courses of study in each of the schools or departments of the school, and shall in conjunction with the teachers of the several schools or departments arrange and hold a public examination of all the scholars at the close of each term thereof, if thought best, and assign each scholar to the particular grade or department which each shall be found qualified to enter; shall assign each student to the proper grade upon admission to the school and may change students from one grade to another during term time, whenever the
