Text

(a)An individual shall not engage in the business of an insurance consultant until being issued a consultant license by the Commissioner; provided, however, that a consultant license shall not be required of the following:
(1)attorneys licensed to practice law in this State acting in their professional capacity;
(2)a duly licensed insurance producer or surplus lines insurance broker;
(3)a trust officer of a bank acting in the normal course of his or her employment; or
(4)an actuary or a certified public accountant who provides information, recommendations, advice, or services in his or her professional capacity.
(b)An application for a license to act as an insurance consultant shall be made to the Commissioner on forms prescribed by the Commissioner. Within a reasonable time after re
