Text
Within a reasonable time, the Secretary shall examine any imported domestic animal placed in quarantine and may apply such tests or retests as the Secretary deems necessary to determine the health of the animals. After tests or retests ordered by the Secretary have been applied, any domestic animal found free from contagious or infectious disease shall be released from quarantine, unless the Secretary determines that the animal may have been exposed to a contagious disease and that it is necessary to continue the quarantine in order to prevent the potential spread of a contagious disease.
