(1)(1)(a) A person who violates this chapter is guilty of a class B misdemeanor, except as provided in Subsection (1)(b).
(1)(b) A person who knowingly makes an untrue statement or knowingly omits a material fact in an application for registration under this chapter or under the federal act is guilty of a class A misdemeanor.
(2)(2)(a) The attorney general shall advise the division and the division's staff in matters requiring legal counsel or services in the exercise of the division's power or performance of the division's duties.
(2)(b) In the prosecution or defense of an action under this section, the attorney general, the county attorney, or the district attorney of the appropriate county shall perform the necessary legal services without compensation other than their regular salarie
