Utah Code Ann. § 41-1a-404.1 (2026).

Text

(1)The owner or operator of a motorcycle shall ensure that the license plate is attached to the rear of the vehicle as described in this section.
(2)A license plate shall at all times be:
(2)(a) securely fastened:
(2)(a)(i) to the vehicle for which it is issued;
(2)(a)(ii) at a height of not less than 12 inches from the ground, measuring from the bottom of the plate; and
(2)(a)(iii) in a place and position to be clearly visible; and
(2)(b) maintained:
(2)(b)(i) free from foreign materials or a tinted or translucent license plate cover; and
(2)(b)(ii) in a condition to be clearly legible.
(3)A motorcycle license plate may not be attached in any manner that is not clearly visible.
(4)The provisions of Subsections (2)(a)(iii) and (2)(b) do not apply to a license plate that is obscured exc
