Text

(1)A person who applies for a motor vehicle registration or registration renewal may designate a voluntary contribution of $3 for the purpose of supporting:
(1)(a) the Emergency Medical Services Grant Program; and
(1)(b) the Search and Rescue Financial Assistance Program.
(2)This contribution shall be:
(2)(a) collected by the division;
(2)(b) treated as a voluntary contribution and not as a motor vehicle or off-highway vehicle registration fee; and
(2)(c) distributed equally to the Emergency Medical Services System Account created in Section 53-2d-108 and the Search and Rescue Financial Assistance Program created in Section 53-2a-1102 at least monthly, less actual administrative costs associated with collecting and transferring the contributions.
