§ 41-1a-1204 — Automobile driver education fee -- Amount -- When paid -- Exception.
(1)Each year there is levied and shall be paid to the commission the automobile driver education fee.
(2)(2)(a) Except as provided in Subsections (2)(b) and (c), the fee is $2.50 upon each motor vehicle to be registered for a one-year registration period.
(2)(b) The fee is $2.00 upon each motor vehicle to be registered under Section 41-1a-215.5 for a six-month registration period.
(2)(c) The following registrations are exempt from the fee in Subsection (2)(a) or (b):
(2)(c)(i) a motorcycle registration; and
(2)(c)(ii) a registration of a vehicle with a Purple Heart special group license plate issued:
(2)(c)(ii)(A) on or before December 31, 2023; or
(2)(c)(ii)(B) in accordance with Part 16, Sponsored Special Group License Plates.
