Text

(1)As used in this section:
(1)(a) (1)(a)(i) "Armed forces" means the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force, and Coast Guard.
(1)(a)(ii) "Armed forces" includes the National Guard.
(1)(b) (1)(b)(i) "Elected official" means an individual who holds an office of a political subdivision that is required by law to be filled by an election.
(1)(b)(ii) "Elected official" includes an individual who is appointed to fill a vacancy in an office described in Subsection (1)(b)(i).
(1)(c) "Elected official reservist" means an elected official who is:
(1)(c)(i) a member of the armed forces reserves component;
(1)(c)(ii) a member of the National Guard; or
(1)(c)(iii) a retired member of the armed forces who may be called to active, full-time duty in the armed forces under Title 1
