§ 20A-1-510 — Midterm vacancies in municipal offices.

(1)(1)(a) As used in this section:
(1)(a)(i) "Vacancy," subject to Subsection (1)(a)(ii), means the same as that term is defined in Section 20A-1-102.
(1)(a)(ii) "Vacancy," if due to resignation, occurs:
(1)(a)(ii)(A) for a municipal executive, on the effective date of an irrevocable letter of resignation submitted by the municipal executive to the municipal legislative body; or
(1)(a)(ii)(B) for a member of a municipal legislative body, on the effective date of an irrevocable letter of resignation submitted by the member to the municipal legislative body.
(1)(b) Except as otherwise provided in this section, if any vacancy occurs in the office of municipal executive or member of a municipal legislative body, the municipal legislative body shall, within 30 calendar days after the day on wh
