§ 40-14-208 — Applications for reimbursement or compensation

(a) Each attorney seeking reimbursement or compensation under this part shall file an application with the trial court stating in detail the nature and amount of the expenses claimed, supporting the claim with receipts showing payment of the expenses and stating the nature and extent of services performed including those in connection with any preliminary hearing. (b) Any attorney rendering services or incurring expenses incident to any appeal and seeking compensation or reimbursement therefor shall file an application with the appellate court stating in detail the matters required in applications to trial courts and any other information as the rules of the court require. (c) All applications for compensation or reimbursement shall also state any payments made or to be made to the applicant by or on behalf of the accused, and the court, in fixing compensation, shall take those payments into account. (d) A certified copy of the court order fixing any compensation or approving any expenses under this part, along with a true copy of the attorney's application, shall be forwarded to the administrative director of the courts, who shall audit and review the order and application, and upon finding payment to be in order, process the payment of compensation and expenses out of money appropriated for that purpose.
