October 9 of each year is observed as "PANDAS Awareness Day," to increase public awareness of the serious illnesses PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections) and PANS (Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome).
