§ 44-25-30 — Director of Mental Health and Director of Disabilities and Special Needs shall be compact administrators.

South Carolina·Title 44 HEALTH·Ch. 25 INTERSTATE COMPACT ON MENTAL HEALTH
Pursuant to the compact, the Director of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities shall be the compact administrator for the mentally ill and persons with intellectual disability, or those with a related disability, respectively, and, acting jointly with like officers of other party states, shall have power to promulgate rules and regulations to carry out more effectively the terms of the compact. The compact administrator shall cooperate with all departments, agencies and officers of and in the government of this State and its subdivisions in facilitating the proper administration of the compact and any supplementary agreement or agreements entered into by this State and thereunder.

Code to the State Department of Mental Health, South Carolina Mental Health Commission, Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, Department of Disabilities and Special Needs Commission, Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services, and other related terms were changed to reflect the restructuring of these agencies into component offices under the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, pursuant to 2025 Act No. 3, SECTION 18.
