(A)There is created the Long Term Care Council (council) composed of the following voting members:
(1)the Governor or his designee;
(2)the Director of the Department of Social Services;
(3)the Director of the Department of Health and Environmental Control;
(4)the Office Director of the Office of Mental Health;
(5)the Office Director of the Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities;
(6)the Director of the Division on Aging;
(7)the Director of the Department of Health and Human Services;
(8)the Chairman of the Joint Legislative Health Care Planning and Oversight Committee, or his designee;
(9)the Chairman of the Joint Legislative Committee on Aging, or his designee;
(10)one representative of each of the following groups appointed by the Lieutenant Governor annually: (a

Code Commissioner's Note At the direction of the Code Commissioner, certain references in the S.C. Code to the State Department of Mental Health, South Carolina Mental Health Commission, Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, Department of Disabilities and Special Needs Commission, Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services, and other related terms were changed to reflect the restructuring of these agencies into component offices under the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, pursuant to 2025 Act No. 3, SECTION 18. Effect of Amendment 2018 Act No. 261, SECTION 12, in (A)(1), substituted "the Governor" for "the Lieutenant Governor".
