§ 8-11-250 — Creation, membership, and duties of Advisory Council.

There is hereby created an Advisory Council whose function shall be to meet on a regular basis with the State Personnel Director to review and to comment on proposed policies, procedures and regulations and to make suggestions to the State Personnel Director on these or other matters referred to the Advisory Council. The Advisory Council shall be appointed by the Director of the Department of Administration and shall consist of five persons skilled or trained in personnel management or employee relations who may or may not be public employees. Provided, further, that one of the five members herein shall be the Executive Secretary of the South Carolina State Employees' Association. All subsequent appointments shall be for four-year terms. Appointment of a chairman shall be by the Governor for a term coterminous with the Governor's term. Members of the Advisory Council shall receive no salary but shall receive compensation provided by law for members of boards, committees and commissions.
