§ 46-3-12. Assessments against property benefited authorized.

For the purpose of securing repayment for the construction cost borne by the municipality for any erosion control system installed or for the cost of any land or interest purchased or taken pursuant to this chapter, the legislative body is authorized and empowered to assess any property upon which taxes are now levied that is benefited by the protective works, and to fix the rate of assessments levied thereon.
