§ 32-7-5. Scope and jurisdiction.

(a) This chapter is intended to include all elements to be regulated by the state of Rhode Island. The regulations contained in this chapter shall not supercede any applicable zoning ordinance enacted by any municipality pursuant to chapter 24 of title 45.

(b) Where differences occur between state and local standards affecting building, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection elements, the state standards shall govern.
