§ 23-59-13. Special provisions for existing providers — Rights of residents with certain existing providers.

(a) Providers existing prior to June 18, 1987 shall comply with this chapter's provisions within six (6) months of that date. However, the department may extend the period within which an existing facility shall comply with this chapter for an additional six (6) months, for good cause shown.

(b) Continuing care contracts entered into prior to June 18, 1987 or prior to registration of the provider shall be valid and binding upon both parties in accordance with their terms.
