§ 23-28.4-2. Scope and purpose.
This chapter establishes minimum requirements for a safety and health program for
            a fire department or any type of organization providing similar services. This chapter
            is not intended to supersede any more stringent requirements in effect at any fire
            department in the state. Fire departments are encouraged to provide protection that
            exceed the minimum requirements specified in this chapter.
