§ 23-23.6-1. Findings.
The general assembly recognizes that carbon monoxide is an odorless, colorless, and tasteless gas that can be harmful or fatal if not properly controlled. Ice resurfacing machines and other equipment with internal combustion engines, such as heaters, emit carbon monoxide. The general assembly recognizes that these emissions can result in ice arena carbon monoxide concentrations which can endanger coaches, children, referees, and other personnel on the ice and can endanger spectators who have underlying heart disease or other conditions that sensitize them to carbon monoxide.
