§ 23-19.12-2. Declaration of purpose.
The purpose of this chapter is to ensure the public health and quality of the environment
            of the state by vesting in the department of environmental management the power necessary
            to regulate and license persons and other legal entities engaged in the generation,
            transportation, storage, treatment, management, and disposal of regulated medical
            waste.
