§ 23-17-10.1. Financial regulation of health maintenance organizations.
Any health maintenance organization licensed under this chapter whose rates are approved
            by and whose financial condition and methods of doing business are periodically examined
            by the director of business regulation, and which was actively engaged in the provision
            of or making available to enrolled participants health care services prior to January
            1, 1982, shall be exempt from financial regulation imposed by the licensing agency
            pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.
