§ 1512 — Coordination and consolidation
(a)Coordination.--Coordination is required in regions where two or more award recipients have services or activities for which financial assistance is being provided under this chapter to assure that the services or activities are provided efficiently and effectively.
(b)Consolidation and mutual cooperation.--
(1)The department, in consultation with local governments and local transportation organizations, shall study the feasibility of consolidation and mutual cooperation among local transportation organizations as a means of reducing annual expenses without loss of service to the communities they serve.
