counter-appeals and cross-appeals. When a petition in error is timely filed, the Supreme Court shall have jurisdiction of the entire action that is the subject of the appeal. No additional jurisdictional steps shall be necessary to enable the Supreme Court to rule upon any errors made in the trial of the action which are asserted by any party to the appeal and involve any other party to the appeal. The Supreme Court may prescribe by rule the time limits for filing counter-appeals and cross-appeals.
