Text

All the power and authority granted to a watershed district shall be vested in and exercised by its board of directors. Upon its organization, the watershed district constitutes a political subdivision of the state, may sue and be sued, and may enter into contracts in furtherance of its powers and duties. The district may receive and accept gifts and grants from persons or any governmental agency, subject to any conditions or terms not inconsistent with the powers and purposes of the district, or not otherwise unlawful. The board shall, by the adoption of bylaws, rules, and regulations, provide the procedure for its actions and the exercise of the authority granted to it.
