Text

(A)Notwithstanding sections5577.02and5577.04of the Revised Code, a vehicle fueled solely by compressed natural gas or liquid natural gas or powered primarily by means of an electric battery may exceed by not more than two thousand pounds the gross vehicle weight provisions of sections5577.01to5577.09of the Revised Code or the axle load limits of those sections.
(B)If a vehicle described in division (A) of this section exceeds the weight provisions of sections5577.01to5577.09of the Revised Code by more than the allowance provided for in division (A) of this section, both of the following apply:
(1)The applicable penalty prescribed in section5577.99of the Revised Code;
(2)The civil liability imposed by section5577.12of the Revised Code.
(C)Division (A) of this section does not apply
