(A)As used in this section and in section3333.392of the Revised Code:
(1)"Academic year" shall be as defined by the chancellor of higher education.
(2)"Hard-to-staff school" and "hard-to-staff subject" shall be as defined by the department of education and workforce.
(3)"Parent" means the parent, guardian, or custodian of a qualified student.
(4)"Qualified service" means teaching at a qualifying school.
(5)"Qualifying school" means a hard-to-staff school district building or a school district building that has a persistently low performance rating, as determined jointly by the chancellor and the department of education and workforce, under section3302.03of the Revised Code at the time the recipient becomes employed by the district.
