(A)Beginning July 1, 1997, judges of a county court shall receive as compensation thirty-five thousand five hundred dollars each year in addition to the compensation payable under division (A)(6) of section141.04of the Revised Code.

(B)The compensation of judges of a county court may be paid in either biweekly installments or semimonthly installments, as determined by the payroll administrator, and shall be paid from the treasury of the county in which the court is situated. A judge of a county court shall be disqualified from the practice of law only as to matters pending or originating in that county court during the judge's term of office. No county court judge shall hold any other office of trust or profit under the authority of this state or the United States.

(C) The presiding judge of a county court who is also the administrative judge of the court shall receive, pursuant to division (B) of this section, an additional one thousand five hundred dollars per annum.

(D) As used in this section, "compensation" does not include any portion of the cost, premium, or charge for health, medical, hospital, dental, or surgical benefits, or any combination of those benefits, covering a judge of the county court and paid on the judge's behalf from the treasury of the county in which the court is located.
