§ 4-408 Treasurer. The treasurer of each village shall be the chief\nfiscal officer of the village and it shall be his responsibility to:\n a. have custody of all moneys belonging to the village, and keep\naccounts of all receipts and expenditures in conformance with a uniform\nsystem of accounts formulated and prescribed by the state comptroller\npursuant to section thirty-six of the general municipal law.\n b. deposit, within ten days after receipt thereof, in the name of the\nvillage, in a bank or trust company designated by the board of trustees,\nall monies received by him;\n c. he may sign checks with the facsimile signature of the treasurer,\nas reproduced by a machine or device commonly known as a checksigner,\nwhen authorized by resolution or local law of the board of trustee
