§ 16-1608 Reincorporation of certain villages confirmed. All villages\nin the state incorporated by special laws and subject to their\nprovisions which have attempted to reincorporate under the provisions of\nchapter four hundred and fourteen of the laws of eighteen hundred and\nninety-seven and the acts amendatory thereof, between July first,\neighteen hundred and ninety-seven and January first, nineteen hundred\nand four, or under the provisions of chapter sixty-four of the laws of\nnineteen hundred and nine to the date of the adoption of this chapter,\nand which have held their elections, elected their officers and\nconducted their municipal affairs under or agreeably or substantially\nunder or substantially agreeable to the provisions of said law for the\nperiod of one year, or longe

All villages\nin the state incorporated by special laws and subject to their\nprovisions which have attempted to reincorporate under the provisions of\nchapter four hundred and fourteen of the laws of eighteen hundred and\nninety-seven and the acts amendatory thereof, between July first,\neighteen hundred and ninety-seven and January first, nineteen hundred\nand four, or under the provisions of chapter sixty-four of the laws of\nnineteen hundred and nine to the date of the adoption of this chapter,\nand which have held their elections, elected their officers and\nconducted their municipal affairs under or agreeably or substantially\nunder or substantially agreeable to the provisions of said law for the\nperiod of one year, or longer are hereby declared to be regularly and\nduly incorporated villages under this chapter; and, so far as any\ndefects, omissions or irregularities to the proceedings for such\nreincorporation affect their annual and special elections and meetings\nand their acts and proceedings at such elections and meetings and the\nelection of their mayors and their other village officers and all the\nacts and proceedings of their boards of trustees and all the acts and\nproceedings of their officers, their said annual and special elections\nand meetings and the election of their mayors and trustees and their\nother village officers and all acts and proceedings of their boards of\ntrustees and all the acts and proceedings of their officers, are hereby\ndeclared to be legal and valid; and so far as any defects, omissions or\nirregularities in their proceedings for such reincorporation affect the\ntitle to the offices held by their mayors, trustees and other officers,\ntheir said mayors, trustees and other officers are hereby declared to be\nlegally holding and entitled to their offices de jure until the\nexpiration thereof as provided by this chapter.\n This section shall not affect any action or proceeding now pending in\nany court.\n
