§ 15-1502 Division into lots; conveyances of lots. The board of\ncemetery commissioners shall have the supervision and control of all\nvillage cemeteries. It shall cause the same to be divided into lots, and\nprovide for the conveyance thereof to individuals for the sole purpose\nof interments, and upon the payment of the purchase-price of any lot,\nshall, in the name of the village, execute, acknowledge and deliver a\nconveyance to the purchaser thereof. The clerk of the village shall keep\na record of the sale of each lot, its number, the date of sale and the\nname of the purchaser; and shall record each conveyance thereof. No\nsale, transfer or assignment of such lot or any interest therein\nsubsequent to the sale by the village shall be valid, unless by an\ninstrument in writing sign
