§ 22-b. Chairman of assessors; designation; duties and compensation.\nThe town board of any town having more than one assessor may establish\nthe office of chairman of town assessors and at its first meeting in\neach year designate one of such assessors to be chairman until the first\nday of January next succeeding such designation. The chairman of town\nassessors, in addition to his regular duties, shall perform such\nservices in connection with the assessment and taxation of property for\nstate, county and town purposes as the town board shall direct. The town\nboard shall fix the compensation of the person designated chairman of\ntown assessors for all services rendered to the town, both as town\nassessor and as chairman.\n
