§ 617. Recalculation of benefits.
a.Notwithstanding any other\nprovision of law, any person who has retired pursuant to the provisions\nof article fourteen of this chapter on or before August thirty-first,\nnineteen hundred eighty-three, whether for service retirement or for\nordinary or accidental disability retirement, may elect to have his or\nher retirement benefits recalculated pursuant to this article, from such\nperson's date of retirement; provided, however, such person was not\nemployed in a position excluded from the application of this article by\nparagraphs one through five of subdivision a of section six hundred of\nthis article.
