§ 214-a. Continuation of service as elected official by certain\nretired persons. Notwithstanding the provisions of this chapter or any\nother state or local law to the contrary, an elected county, city, town,\nor village official may continue in a current term of such elective\noffice at the time of their retirement from another position of public\nservice. Retention of such elective office, limitation on earnings\nand/or reduction or suspension of retirement payments shall be subject\nto the same terms and conditions for re-employment in public service\nimposed pursuant to the provisions of this chapter and/or the provisions\nof the civil service law.\n
