§ 411-a. Court attendant in Herkimer county. The county judge and\nsurrogate of the county of Herkimer is hereby authorized by and with the\nconsent and approval of the trial justice of the supreme court, residing\nin Herkimer county, to appoint a court attendant in and for the supreme\nand county courts in Herkimer county, whose duty it shall be to attend\nthe various terms of such courts held in and for the county of Herkimer\nand act as attendant and court crier thereat and to perform such other\nservices as shall be required and designated by said justice and judge.\nSaid court officer shall possess all the power of an officer designated\nby the sheriff to attend upon the court and shall receive such salary as\nshall be fixed from time to time by the board of supervisors of Herkimer\
