§ 317. Stenographers of county courts.

1.The stenographer of the\ncounty court of each of the counties of Albany, Erie, Monroe, Oneida,\nRensselaer, Jefferson and Niagara must attend each term of the said\ncourt where issues of fact in civil and criminal cases are triable. The\nstenographers of the county court of Kings and Queens counties must\nattend each term of said court. The stenographer of the county court of\nJefferson county shall as a part of his official duties also act as\nstenographer to the grand jury of said county, and shall, at the request\nof the district attorney, attend preliminary hearings in criminal cases\nprior to the action of the grand jury thereupon.\n 2.
