§ 217. Judicial associations; functions. There shall be a judicial\nassociation for each of the courts of the unified court system. The\nmembers of each association shall be the justices of the supreme court,\nthe judges of the court of claims, the county court, the surrogate's\ncourt, the family court, the district court, the civil court of the city\nof New York, the criminal court of the city of New York, the city courts\noutside the city of New York, or the justices of the town and village\ncourts, as the case may be. Each association shall hold at least one\nannual meeting, at which its members shall elect officers, confer on\nmatters of mutual interest and conduct such other business relating to\nthe performance of their judicial functions as they deem appropriate.\nEach judicial association shall designate one of its members to consult\nwith the chief judge and the chief administrator with respect to the\nimpact of administrative policies on the functioning of the courts and\nrelated agencies of the unified court system.\n
