§ 177. Commissioner of records of city court of the city of New York;\nappointment; salary; duties.
(1)The presiding justice shall appoint a\ncommissioner of records and a deputy commissioner of records who shall\nbe authorized to act generally for and in place of the commissioner of\nrecords. Such commissioner shall appoint, subject to the prior approval\nof the presiding justice, subordinates to assist him in the performance\nof his duties. The salary of such commissioner, deputy commissioner and\nsubordinates shall be fixed by the presiding justice, and shall be paid\nout of appropriations therefor made by the city of New York.\n (2) Such commissioner shall examine into the arrangement and condition\nof the records, documents, books and papers, deposited or filed in the\noffice of t
